Abstract

This study examines marriage preparation from the perspective of Islamic Law with a case study at the Ar-Rahman Pre Wedding Academy (APWA). The research is motivated by the high divorce rate and the lack of understanding among Muslim couples regarding the concepts of sakinah, mawaddah, and warahmah. Using a normative approach and qualitative methods through observation, interviews, and literature review, the study finds that APWA plays an important role in equipping prospective spouses through its premarital curriculum, which includes spiritual, intellectual, physical, financial, and social preparation. This program helps participants understand Islamic jurisprudence on marriage, household management, communication, as well as mental and spiritual readiness. The study concludes that marriage preparation in Islamic Law emphasizes knowledge and self-readiness, making Islamic premarital education essential for establishing a harmonious family.
